Gospel singer Andrae Crouch began releasing records in the 1970s and quickly made a name for himself with his innovative blend of traditional gospel and pop elements. THE BEST OF ANDRAE CROUCH is an excellent place to become acquainted with the vocalist; his passionately intense delivery is exhibited on all 20 of the set's tracks. Crouch has penned several gospel classics, such as "My Tribute (To God Be the Glory), and these are included, but every cut is a gem. The artist's unique sound has been a key influence on the generations of gospel artists who succeeded him, so THE BEST is also a nice way for fans of contemporary gospel to go back to the source.
